PROGRAMS for RETAILERS & Other Resellers
We prefer to sell direct, but we also support the more
traditional distribution channels.
If you prefer the traditional channels, request our
titles from your favorite distributor.
If they don't have it, give them our contact information.
| Why direct?
To reduce costs and increase profits for EVERYONE but the middleman. Note, also, that the actual retail prices are less than those shown for direct order by customers from our Web site for personal use. Those prices reflect both inscription and shipping/handling costs. For a price sheet reflecting YOUR costs, please contact us (see below) and specify the program of interest. Let's face it. A distributor has to make a buck, and one-stop shopping is certainly worth some value. There is also shipping costs. If you buy it from a shipper there is one whole new truck delivery required. With the rising costs of fuel, this is going to become a bigger and bigger issue in your customer's decision making process. What's the deal? If you buy direct from us, you can do it under several programs, each designed to allow you to pick a method which best fits the way you wish to conduct business. 1) Jobber Model: We put you into your own business with a backdoor for an easy escape if it does not work out for you. You let us send you sets of each title we mutually agree as acceptable to you and your customers — at a significant discount and profit margin for you. We ask a 50% deposit with first order, balance net 120 EOM. You place them on your own or anyone else's shelf and reorder as needed with a minimum of 5 books per reorder. At anytime after a 3 month trial, you can cancel the arrangement and return resellable unsold copies for full credit or refund, less a handling charge of 10% — or pay for the rest of your order (from your profits). Your terms on reorders are NET 10 EOM. Your margin is 40%. This can work well for college students hawking to other students, or to anyone willing to ask a grocer or other non book store retailer if they wouldn't like to let you place the books on their shelves. A true jobber might offer retailers %15 (they have no out of pocket) of sales; you keep the remaining profit when you collect from them (at time of restock and reorder). You or our ProParanoid Press representatives may visit the store(s) at any time. If more than 30% of the books are sold out or not displayed, and there are no orders in hand to replace, you may loose your right to return merchandise, as well as your EOM terms. This keeps you on your toes enough to visit once a week, or more if the sales warrant. We ship freight collect, returns are at your expense. 2) Niche Marketer and Evangelist Model (our 'mini' distributor program): You select a small list of titles you wish to stock. This works well for a small specialty shop (i.e., a security shop) as well as evangelists who have too little time to consider being a jobber, perhaps a Web master wishing to sell the books directly from your Web site (you may wish to review Web Master partnership programs, first — you actually can do both). You order at least three copies of any given title(s) of your choice, and restock as you go, orders prepaid, no returns. Take a 25% discount, you pay shipping. Discount jumps to 30% for orders of ten books or more, and subsequent orders can be for as little as two copies of a given title. All orders must be prepaid, no returns. We ship freight collect. 3) Wholesale Model: You are probably a bookstore
or chain. Order lots of 24 of a given title (initial order, refills can
be mixed titles) at a time with a 35% discount. You pay shipping both ways
(you have unsold return rights of sellable copies). First order requires
100% deposit. Future orders are NET 10 EOM. If you have existing terms
or conditions with other booksellers which are more conducive to your computerized
systems or find our program in conflict with your policy, please advise
and we will consider possible altering our program to better fit your needs
if it is found mutually beneficial.
